Finals!

Since final exams are quickly approaching, we would like you to create some helpful study materials for you and your classmates.  It's up to you what you want to do, but some examples are to create a set of flashcards, a slideshow, annotated notes, a screencast recording, a video...the possibilities are endless.  Once you create your study "guide," show it to your teacher and get their approval.  Once they approve it, share it with your classmates by email or by giving them a link.  After that, please describe what you did in the comments below.  Include any links in your comment.  If your study materials can't be included in your comment, email them to Amy.
So, in review, this is what you need to do by April 30th:
1. Create study aide for one class.
2. Show to your teacher and get his/her ok.
3. Share with classmates.
4.  Write about what you did on this blog.  Share your material in your comment or by sending to Amy.

March Open Thread

We will be having a Lunch and Learn for anyone in our iPad program on Wednesday, March 7th featuring apps and zerts!  Bring your lunch (aka 'tre-'tre) and your iPads, and we'll provide desserts.  We'll be discussing our favorite apps, so please think about which ones you would want to share.  We will meet in the old elementary library meeting space at 12:45. Please RSVP to Amy Valk by March 6th.

• how you are using your iPad in the classroom
• a link to (or synopsis of) an article about iPads in education
• ideas you have for school-uses of iPads

Assignment #8: iPad training

In the survey we recently sent out, many of you mentioned that you might like some more training on the iPad.  If you were the one planning our iPad training sessions, what is one thing you might add?

Since so many of you have finals, projects, and other big assignments due this time of year, we have decided to make this the last blog assignment for 2012.  You have until December 16th to complete this assignment.

Assignment #7: Show and Tell

We were impressed with how many of you are using your iPads throughout the day.  Now we would like you to show your teachers how you are using them.  Please select a teacher that does not have their own iPad and share with them how you are using the iPad in their class (or how it could be used).  Make sure you set up a time to do this at your teacher's convenience.  Once you have shared with a teacher, please comment and tell us who you shared with, what you showed them, and what their reaction was.

This assignment is due Monday, November 28th.
